DVA funding

DVA-funded treatment for veterans

You don't need to understand the full referral or approval process before contacting us. Our admissions team can talk through your situation and explain what treatment programs are available to you.

What's funded

Detox and rehabilitation

Individuals with a DVA card can access medically supervised detox and residential rehabilitation with no out-of-pocket treatment cost.

Mental health

Treated alongside substance use

Treatment for PTSD, anxiety, depression and trauma is provided alongside alcohol and other drug treatment, so you are not asked to address one without the other.

Not sure where you stand? Our admissions team can talk it through with you over the phone.

Not sure what kind of support you need?

You don't need to have all the answers before contacting us. Our admissions team can listen to what has been happening, explain the assessment process and discuss the treatment options available.

It may be time to speak with our team if:

  • You have tried to stop or reduce your alcohol or drug use but have found it difficult
  • Your substance use is affecting your health, relationships or everyday life
  • You are concerned about withdrawal symptoms
  • You have previously accessed treatment and need further support
  • You are also living with PTSD, anxiety, depression or trauma

Any treatment recommendation will be based on a clinical assessment of your health, substance use, withdrawal needs and personal circumstances.

For family & friends

Calling for someone you care about?

Partners, family and friends are welcome to make the first call

You don't need a DVA reference number, a GP referral, or a treatment plan ready before you call — just an idea of what's been happening. We can talk through:

  • What DVA funding covers for detox and rehabilitation
  • What the veteran's GP or treating doctor may need to provide
  • How to discuss treatment options with a veteran who isn't ready to commit

Reaching out is completely confidential and there's no obligation to proceed. Whatever you share stays between you and our admissions team.
